Cubicco, a pre-engineered housing company based in Miami and the Netherlands, creates homes that are designed to meet winds of up to 180 miles per hour, per the hurricane zone code of Miami Dade County.
The semi-outdoor space extends the living room outward. Inside, a layer of glass sliding doors further facilitate breezes. The occupants can enjoy the sound and smell of rain behind shelter.
Filmmaker-turned-designer Alejandro Landes chose materials such as concrete and stone for their raw appeal, allowing nature to take center stage—while a series of balconies and decks offer myriad ways to enjoy the view.
