The pandemic has exacerbated our need for flexibility, and yet our homes still require us to sign long leases, purchase furniture and set up utilities. What if our apartments were a bit more like hotel rooms: beautifully designed, ready to move in and ready to live?
Maison offers furnished and equipped apartments shared by several tenants. We erase the difficulties of moving, enabling our tenants to feel at home from the moment they arrive.

Where we live should match the way we live.

The design inspiration for Maison is the dream of a New York loft: its uninterrupted views over the city where common and private spaces are intertwined, where the decor is inspiring, an eclectic mix of designer pieces and industrial objects.

Through the use of very affordable materials such as plain white tiles for the kitchens, white and black paint throughout the spaces, we were able to create a base of finishes that were not only affordable but also timeless and classic.

This design ethos allowed us to create a sustainable design environment which can stand the test of time and both honors icons of design and more mundane and classic objets of our everyday lives.

Maison was developed by Madelon, a housing company based in New York and Los Angeles. In early 2022, Madelon launched their first property, "Maison Jefferson", located in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn. And by the end of the year, Madelon will officially launch four more Maison communities: Maison Edgecombe in Upper Manhattan, Maison Suydam in Bushwick, Maison Linden in Ridgewood and Maison Halsey in Bedstuy.

One of the most unique aspects of Maison Jefferson is the hand painted mural spanning the building’s rear facade. Designed by internationally-renowned artist Eduardo Sarabia, the mural overlooks Maison’s private back garden and features a sprawling green vine-like plant painted in vivid green and black — a distinct motif often observed in his work.

Sarabia, who was born in Los Angeles, CA, and resides in Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, has been exhibited in numerous museums such as Tamayo Museum in Mexico City; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Oaxaca, Mexico; the ASU Art Museum, Arizona; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; and more. He has received two grants for the Durfee Grant Foundation and has been invited to be an artist in residence at Tokyo Wonder Site in Tokyo, Japan, where he completed a large public ceramic mural.
