From Mark Miller

Brief: A home owner of a 70's era ranch home was frustrated with limitations in trying to improve it's energy efficiency and comfort over the years. When the lot next door became available, she was thrilled to have an opportunity to design and build her dream vision for a super energy efficient and eco-friendly home to announce to advocate to the community, there's a smarter way to build. The 2,300 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath home started design work in 2017; delayed through the construction industry issues of the pandemic years; was tested by a third party agency to prove the home is meeting the design intentions goals for energy efficiency. The home was just awarded with PHIUS+2018 and PHIUS+Source Zero certifications, the first for any home in the state of Michigan, and the first round passive house in North America.
