From zinc architecture

Located 20 minutes west of downtown Nashville, this 3,200 sq. ft. retreat is nestled into a heavily wooded site in Kingston Springs.
The house is organized into 3 volumes: main living, master suite and garage. The “lean-to” roof forms for each volume are zinc clad planes that shelter the interior spaces within.

While the roof shelters the interior, the more transparent south elevation draws the landscape i. The elevation change at the rear of the house gives the interior spaces a decidedly tree-house feel.

Sustainability, efficiency and zero maintenance were project goals from the very beginning.

Ultimately, the house was meant to be an escape for two busy doctors who wished to leave the city and their work behind and engage with nature.
