KOKU House & Workshop

KOKU House & Workshop is a handcrafted space where craftsmanship and daily life coexist.
Inui Takaaki and Naomi, the founders of KOKU Products, designed and built their home and workshop as places to live and create. As furniture makers working with natural materials, they desired to live closer to nature and relocated to this site in 2024. The project was designed in collaboration with female architect HAYAMI Architect and constructed by the local firm YAYOI Construction.

The two structures are designed to complement each other, forming a cohesive environment for both living and creating. Locally sourced wood and repurposed materials are used throughout, creating a warm and sustainable living environment. Over time, the natural materials will age gracefully, blending more harmoniously with their surroundings. The workshop serves as both a creative space and a source of daily inspiration, seamlessly integrating the philosophy of craftsmanship into daily life.

Guided by the concept of "crafting a house with the same care as making furniture," the project embodies the same philosophy of craftsmanship as their furniture-making process—paying close attention to every detail, with deep respect for materials and intentional design.
