Located on Lake St-Joseph, the residence comes to life alongside more traditional architectures. The desire behind this concept was to create a contemporary residence with clean lines having as main subject the nature that surrounds it.
Built on a steel structure and the integration of the aluminum curtain wall as its challenge, Residence Kim looks towards the panoramic view like a large painting in space.
The sloping layout reveals a minimalist and intimate volume on the street side and suggests a small-scale residence. On the lake side, the residence opens onto two generously glazed levels. A large balcony surrounds two of the facades of the house, and offers outdoor spaces protected from bad weather at the garden level. On the main floor, the floor and ceiling finishes extend to the balcony and soffits to maximize the effect of spaciousness and reduce separation from the exterior.
Inside, with a minimalist design, the space is arranged as an open area and allows you to move naturally from one room to another. The kitchen, made up of an imposing and welcoming central island, is equipped with practical and aesthetic integrated storage where everything is hidden, down to the details of the island. In terms of colors, the desire to play with black to white contrasts aimed to exaggerate the illusion of interior stripping, thus giving way to the colors of nature.
On the outside, an integration of luminous tubular wires goes around the marquee to create a delicate light atmosphere visible in the distance from the lake. All giving the illusion of a glazed, floating, almost transparent cube.
