From Brad Ramsey Interiors

Nestled along the tranquil shores of a natural lake near the Blue Ridge Mountains in South Carolina, this luxurious lakehouse, completed in 2023, exemplifies the harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern sophistication. Designed by interior designer Brad Ramsey, the retreat serves as a serene getaway for its owners, offering an inviting space to relax, connect with nature, and entertain loved ones.

The 7,471-square-foot home features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a workout room, and endless gathering spaces filled with warmth, texture, and natural finishes for ultimate comfort and grounding. Expansive steel-framed windows flood the interiors with natural light, providing uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. The great room, a central feature of the home, boasts a ceiling clad in wooden rafters and a grand fireplace crafted from Lake James North Carolina stone veneer with limestone accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This space flows effortlessly into the open-plan kitchen and dining areas, fostering a communal environment.

The cabin's design emphasizes a seamless integration between indoor and outdoor living. The interior palette is thoughtfully curated with colors and materials that reflect the natural surroundings, ensuring a cohesive and tranquil aesthetic throughout the home. The covered upper porch is a standout feature, equipped with powered screens that allow for seasonal versatility. When the dining room's fold-away doors are fully opened, this porch effectively doubles the living space, enhancing the connection to the outdoors.

Ramsey's approach focused on creating a textural, comfortable, and relaxed environment that complemented the rustic modern house designed by MHK Architecture and built by The Stillwater Group. The intentional design choices result in a residence that feels intrinsically connected to the wooded landscape and the lakeside setting, offering a perfect getaway for its inhabitants.
