A typical San Francisco backyard in Potrero Hill gets a major renovation - this two unit building required division of a relatively small back yard to be seamless, functional but not feel divided.
the dhd design team, grounded in japanesque, tatami mats and wood edges, created an open, functional and beautiful space that extends indoor spaces out and provides beautiful, functional and minimal space that is inviting and welcoming; a built in space around a fire pit; ample seating spaces with built in benches and multi functioning poured in place concrete patio. The design is finalized with a simple planting pallet that is warm, green and low maintenance and low watering.
