Natural-Built 26x8ft Tiny House Incorporates Biophilic Design And A Living Roof.
Our design process is based on Permaculture principles, and for this beauty we also drew from Fibonacci and bio-mimicry. Together with our client, we looked to nature to solve the challenges for this ambitious and stunning build. The open joint siding, open joint Oak ceiling, angled walls and live edge features steel the show with subtlety and grace.
We started this build off with a hands on build workshop, were students came together to learn about the nuts and bolts of building a Tiny house. We used high performance breathable membranes, an HRV to act as lungs for our living building, 30% of the materials came from Habitat for humanity or deconstructed 1930's houses from Vancouver BC, Canada.
The remaining finishing was a labor of love , the living roof was installed after delivery to Portland, and the owners are now living their Tiny house dream.
