This residence, hidden by a curtain of trees, can be discovered by taking a footbridge that connects the parking lot to the house. The sloping ground allows the development of a plan where the living spaces are arranged upstairs, at the height of the foliage of the trees. It maintains a close relationship with its environment. From the outside, the volume dresses in black wood and topped with a black metal roof, highlights the colors of nature. From inside the house, thanks to its abundant windows, opens onto a decor that offers occupants different and changing views of the wooded landscape according to the seasons.

This project is tinged with simplicity, both in terms of its volume and materiality as well as its interior layout. The residence takes the vernacular form of the traditional house: rectangular plan and two-sided roof. Extrusions in the main volume, marked by a contrasting color, are created to integrate the covered gallery, the vertical circulations and the services. Both upstairs and downstairs, the rooms follow one another and the openings are aligned, providing natural light and ventilation. At the end of the residence, terraces are arranged which overlook the vegetation.

The kitchen, located in the center of the open area, between the dining room and the living room, becomes a unifying space. We eat there, we cook there, we chat, we exchange around the cooking islands. You will find the family spirit, warm and friendly of a typical Laurentian home.
