Design and construction of this hillside home included restoring the site to its natural condition before it had been regraded for a ranch house building pad 50 years earlier. From a distance, the 8,000 square foot house looks quiet on the site but a closer approach reveals hints of something unusual. Upon entering the space the volumes and intricacies of the space become apparent and display unexpected delights. Outside, magnificent views are framed and captured by the terrace’s geometry and the silk-like quality of the trellis canopy high overhead. The expansive window walls fold open to provide an uninterrupted connection to the terraces, fountains, and swimming pool.
