The design for Highlands 15 is entirely driven by the view of Mt. Hood. The entry to the house immediately orients the view line to the mountain. Subsequent spaces change in volume and feel but orientation to the view always exists. A 2-story great room acts as the central core to the house with all spaces either open to it or directly adjacent. Several decks and patios provide ample outdoor living, much of it covered for all season usage.
The project is a speculative house on a moderately down sloping lot. The entry and primary living spaces are located on the middle of 3 floors. The upper floor surrounds the double height space and contains the master suite, 2 other bedrooms and a secondary living / games room. The lower floor includes a secondary master suite, work out and movie rooms.
