This contemporary home occupies a site above Aptos with expansive views of the Monterey Bay. The landscape plan placed amenities and paths to preserve views and accommodate outdoor living on a steep and dramatic site. From the street, custom designed stainless steel gates open onto a long drive into the site. The pedestrian route to the house begins with its own gate, and a path through a fruiting Olive grove to the front door. Upon entering the house, views of a fountain unfold with Monterey Bay as a backdrop. A spa courtyard flanks the master bedroom wing. An outdoor kitchen with pizza oven is conveniently located adjacent to the interior kitchen. The terrace expands the use of the outdoors along the entire oceanfront side of the house, and is defined on one edge by a bocce court. The hillsides and surrounding beds are planted with a low maintenance palette of groundcover, perennials shrubs and trees.
