Haute Cabin is the concept of Luc & Meredith Milord, two residents of the Boston area, who spent years visiting Vermont on weekends staying at hotels or rental properties that weren't always sized or equipped with the types of amenities suitable for couples. They dreamed of building their own cabin one day, optimized for a couple or small family, that felt both intimate and luxurious yet location-appropriate.

Completed in 2020, Haute Cabin is an Energy Star-certified home with 2BR/2BA and 1250 square feet. The first floor boasts a full bathroom, a bedroom with queen-size bed, laundry, spacious galley kitchen with chef-grade appliances, and an open concept living/dining area with cathedral ceilings and giant sliding doors leading to the outdoor patio. The upstairs open loft includes a king-size bed with dramatic mountain views and a luxurious master bathroom with rain shower and double sinks.

The cabin is modern, energy efficient, and compact, with thoughtful details inspired by Scandinavian style. It was designed by architects Justin Brown and Caroline Alsup, former coworkers and personal friends of Meredith & Luc. It has dramatic windows and expansive views from every room. Located on a secluded hilltop with breathtaking mountain views, the surrounding communities of Woodstock, Quechee, & Windsor are a short 15-20 minute drive away.

The name "Haute" was inspired by the French/Creole word for "elevated." The significance of the name comes from Luc's background as an immigrant from Haiti. As an interracial couple, Meredith & Luc faced unique challenges and hope to create a blog someday chronicling their experience.
