Featherbed Island House is a grand farmhouse on the banks of Machias Bay overlooking its own private island (Featherbed Island). Its grounds are acres of rolling lawn, a small scenic pond, surrounded by both the vast ocean and acres of pine forest.
The house has a great room with a two-story wall of windows, as well as a music room and den. The kitchen has quartz countertops, a custom-made in Maine slate sink and a glorious antique walk-in pantry. Both the architecture and design are quirky and whimsical with antique and vintage elements throughout the house. The two bathrooms have one-of-a-kind sinks -- one made from a river rock, the other travertine.
