Nestled in the idyllic surroundings just outside the bustling metropolis of the Valley of Mexico, the FA House stands as a remarkable holiday haven in Tepeji del Río. Positioned atop a gently descending hill, it offers a privileged vantage point, affording residents sweeping vistas of the tranquil lake and the picturesque countryside that stretches to meet the majestic mountains. The natural beauty of this location inspired a design that prioritizes the surrounding views and seeks to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces.

As one approaches the house, a captivating journey unfolds, beginning with a descent down a staircase flanked by rustic stone walls adorned with indigenous vegetation. A few steps further, the grandeur of the great room comes into view, seamlessly blending the kitchen, dining area, and living space with the garden and the expansive terrace. The floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors blur the boundaries between the interior and the exterior, allowing residents to harmoniously commune with nature.

The FA house boasts distinctive design elements, featuring elongated rooflines reminiscent of the prairie style, punctuated by a substantial core of exposed concrete that anchors the structure to the terrain, imparting character, and a sense of place. This core serves as the linchpin of the entire architectural composition.

Upstairs, the bedrooms have been strategically positioned to maximize their respective views. The interplay of intersecting planes, created by the juxtaposition of flat and slanted roofs, introduces an abundance of natural light into the corridor that connects the four rooms, enhancing the overall ambiance of the house.

The materials chosen for the FA House seamlessly blend with the natural environment. The reddish hue of the concrete was meticulously selected to echo the earthy tones and the tezontle rock found in the local environment. Natural wood accents infuse warmth into each living space. The fusion of these carefully chosen materials creates an atmosphere of profound serenity, a sanctuary that invites tranquility, silence, and a timeless connection to the surrounding landscape.
