STUDIO BAR GIL KOHN [ Interior Designer Hagar Bar Gil and Architectural planner Tal Kohn ] renovated and transformed an old Tel Aviv apartment into an inviting, stylish, and elegant space that would match the residents lifestyle.
The irregular angles of the apartment's architectural envelope inspired the studio to create a multifunctional sculptural element which emphasizes the heart of the home. This element includes closed storage, a library and a fireplace, leading us from the public area into the private spaces at both ends. The materials and colors chosen for the apartment are natural and monochromatic, with a finish that reflects the beauty of nature through the material itself, color, shape, and light. This is expressed through textured tiles in varying sizes and cuts in the main element, a wooden wall with a unique texture behind the sofa which gains depth and beauty from the natural light coming through the window next to it, changing its appearance throughout the day with soft light and shadows.

The powerful and long hidden kitchen wall is made of oak wood, which stores the kitchen storage and hidden passages to the workspace, utility room, and guest facilities. This emphasizes the clean lines of the house, creating contrast and dialogue between the stainless steel kitchen island.

Due to the minimalist style of the project, a limited number of materials were chosen, which are repeated in different versions, textures, and connections, creating a harmonious, mysterious, and layered texture.
