The Mistral Tower apartment is the interior
design for an 80m² residence located inside
the Mistral Tower in Santa Fe, Mexico City. The
program includes: a bedroom, full bathroom,
living room, kitchen, guest bathroom and a
terrace adjoining the room.
It was intervened in a stage of gray work, in
which the selection of materials, electrical
installations, finishes and restorations of some
areas were carried out.
The space had a false ceiling at a height
of 2.5m, which was removed to have a
total height of 3.5m, leaving the apparent
installations and providing a smoothing
treatment to the apparent slab and painting
to the existing installations.
For the existing partition walls, wooden slats
were created with moldings that were later
painted in shades of black, giving the space a
darker appearance. For some walls, a mixture
of black Chukum was used, which generates
a texture of different shades and tones that
dialogues with the carpentry also in the same
tone, which are illuminated by hidden boxes
and grooves that provide indirect lighting
to the decoration pieces. The wooden floor
maintains a “herringbone” style cut that
retracts from the edges generating a border
that is delimited by a thin line of golden brass,
the closets, wine cellar and kitchen cabinets
were designed with smoked glass doors in
dark tones that are illuminated inside with
warm lights to illuminate the objects inside.
In the dividing wall between the living room
and the bedroom, a custom rotating wall was
designed in which a television was installed
on one side and a picture on the other, with
which it can be hidden in a practical way. For
the terrace, an exploded view of a quadruped
linear enclosure was created.
The design elements maintain a
monochromatic line that addresses stone
materials, crystals, pastes and concrete that
contrast with the details of brass and marble.
