NYC’s Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors is known for minimal aesthetics and subtle palettes that result in luxurious homes with a contemporary, inviting ambiance. This sprawling 10,000 square feet property was designed for a young couple who hired Betty to turn their traditional Hamptons home into a contemporary weekend getaway. Betty and her team renovated 6,000 square feet for the family and used the additional 4,000 square feet to create space for visiting guests and friends. The property also flaunts an infinity pool and an outdoor entertainment area.
One of the highlights of this home is the artisanal lighting installed throughout the house. You are welcomed into the home with a statement light fixture that falls from the second floor to the first. The homeowners love to entertain, and there are several seating areas, cozy rooms, and fireplace nooks to accommodate small, intimate get-togethers and large parties. The palette in the living areas features calming hues juxtaposed with pastel, subtle-hued furniture. A playroom/study serves entertainment and functional purposes with a TV unit, a built-in floor-to-ceiling bookshelf, and window seating that doubles up as storage.
The kitchen has a sleek, contemporary vibe with loads of storage and pretty pendants to add a delicate touch. It extends into a cozy, window-side breakfast nook with soft blue seating, while the formal dining is a minimal space with statement art and dainty pendants.
The master bedroom and bathroom are all about tranquility and luxury, and Betty’s clean-lined minimal aesthetic is most evident in the master suite. The kids’ rooms and bathrooms are as elegant as the rest of the home but feature warmer hues and playful, colorful accents. This family and entertainment-friendly home is a beautiful balance of style and functionality presented with a contemporary, minimal aesthetic.
