Located in Walnut, California, the Countryside residence was designed for a young couple with two kids. The goal was to create an open floor plan for the family who enjoys doing activities together. We did this by connecting the kitchen with the great room, which also opens up to the adjacent piano room. The space now is divided by a floating fireplace that serve as the main focal point of the space. We also wanted to take advantage of the backyard as an extension of the interior by enlarging the windows to open up the view. With our client's budget in mind, we chose to use prefabricated cabinetry along with textured paneling to achieved a custom look. Knowing this would be our client's forever home, we wanted the design and color pallette to be long lasting, so we took a minimalist approach with neutral colored materials and a clean line aesthetic. This is one of our low budget projects but it turned out to be one of our favorites!
