Cool Cats on the Block Residence

We completely gutted the entire downstairs of this residential home about a week before COVID hit - so remodeling this home really took on a new meaning seeing as this family was about to be spending much more time at home than expected for the forseeable future! The downstairs of the home includes the living room, powder bath, dining room, and kitchen - the owners wanted to not stray too far from the traditional style of the neighborhood but still wanted to layer in their own personality and love for mid-century into the home. We updated the layout in the kitchen, flooring throughout, and went with two-toned skinny shaker cabinetry paired with brass mid-century lighting, mixed metals, and natural wood accents. We brought in those white, skinny shaker lowers into the living room custom built-ins and paired those with white oak shelving above to again mix the more classic/ traditional vibe with a mid-century modern style they were craving. One fun fact - the cabinet base you see in the powder bath actually hides the cat littler box! There's a circle-cutout underneath the countertop for top-secrete cat access :)
