Nestled in São Paulo’s Alto da Lapa neighborhood, Casa Ipó by Estúdio BRA reflects its residents’ vision for fluid, integrated spaces in constant conversation with their natural surroundings.
The façade is one of the project’s defining elements—wooden louvers, cast in pine board molds, introduce warmth and lightness while maintaining a continuous dialogue with the exposed concrete structure. The interplay of textures strengthens the connection to the surrounding greenery, accentuating the home’s elegance throughout the day.
The homeowners sought a layout that would foster social interaction while offering the flexibility to enclose spaces such as the kitchen, TV room, and service areas when needed. To achieve this, the ground floor is framed by an elegant wooden volume that runs throughout, allowing for seamless transitions between spaces while maintaining a sense of openness and continuity.
A verdant array of native Brazilian plants—including pitangueiras and monstera—embraces the pool and outdoor areas, effortlessly blending nature into the home’s living spaces. The result is an inviting setting designed for both quiet contemplation and lively gatherings with family and friends.
A striking dark gray metal staircase becomes a sculptural focal point, offering a dynamic perspective of the side façade’s large window. Its lightweight design ensures a fluid transition between floors, respecting the home’s spatial harmony. Upstairs, a skylight-lit corridor leads to the private quarters, where four suites—each featuring warm cumaru wood flooring and crisp white walls—create an atmosphere of light and spaciousness. The layout includes a primary suite with a walk-in closet and vestibule, alongside three equally sized suites for the couple’s son, guests, and a home office.
At the far end of the property, connected to the main house via a wooden deck, a separate structure in exposed concrete houses a storage area, mechanical room, bathroom, and home gym.
More than just a residence, Casa Ipó embodies an architecture that seamlessly merges design, nature, and expansive living spaces—an invitation to both reflection and relaxation.
