The inspiration behind Carlton Court was a rich public/ private zone for the streetscape. Homes are set back to allow trees and guest parking. Home fronts have doors and balconies on all levels to maximize views, outdoor spaces, and interaction with city life below. The narrow and long lots didn’t allow for much access to exterior space or light. In response, both ends of the home have operable doors to accessible exterior spaces and allow the home to feel open and fresh. Large roof decks offer additional private exterior spaces. Construction is typical CMU foundations, wood framing, membrane roof, sliding patio doors, fiber cement and stone veneer siding.
