Returning Inland.
Reinventing design by exploring traditional Mallorcan architecture with an innovative look at the use of local materials. Finding the right balance between the landscape and the new building by choosing colours that blend in with the materials and textures already present in the surrounding area. Creating spaces that foster relationships and promoting places that awaken the need to inhabit and experience them.
The house is located near the village of Cas Concos, to the southeast of the island. The traditional architecture of this inland village maintains a beautiful natural environment and it is just a few kilometres from a coastline full of beaches with stunning turquoise blue waters.
Natural elements.
Our initial aim was to connect with the natural elements of Mallorca, from the inner part of the island, along with its origins. Materials in their wildest state and those worked for centuries by generations of Mallorcans. Highlighting their colours, their textures and the way they have been formed.
We searched for a colour scheme based on materials in their natural state, to achieve a balance with their environment.
