BR House stands within a gated community in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico. Blending expansive areas for entertaining with cozy family spaces, the house design skillfully navigates the challenges of the terrain, striving for a harmonious blend of spaciousness, tranquility, and openness.

Nestled into a gently sloping terrain overlooking a cliff, the house is primarily spread across two levels, gradually descending to two and a half stories as it follows the natural slope. The interplay between the site's topography and the enchanting woodland vistas takes center stage in the project's design. The steep slope at the lot's end necessitated a careful excavation, resulting in minimal earthworks that facilitated the creation of a garden at the living room level.

Access to the house is a few steps below street level, leading through a narrow corridor that fosters a sense of intimacy and human connection. This sense is abruptly interrupted by the sight of the open staircase, designed to showcase the inner workings of the house. Strategically placed windows frame captivating views of a tree, casting ever-changing shadows that shift with the seasons.

Strategic positioning ensures that the main living areas enjoy uninterrupted views of the garden and the encompassing hills. A series of parallel structural walls delineate the interior spaces, complemented by perpendicular infill walls catering to service functions. Ancillary areas and storage spaces are arranged laterally, allowing the central area to flow seamlessly as a continuous, open sequence. Thoughtfully placed pathways offer glimpses of carefully framed landscapes, enriching the experience of moving through the house.

The living room is fashioned as a glass pavilion that seamlessly merges with the garden. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors encircle the space, blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The elevated master bedroom fosters a sense of privacy while providing an expansive view of the garden. Guest rooms, a family room, and an open studio form the private wing, opening up to the main facade.

In its essence, the BR House embodies simplicity and an aesthetic centered on serenity and openness. The design process focused on maximizing the program's potential, integrating both architectural and natural elements to enrich not only the interior but also the surrounding environment.
