From Boffi Georgetown
A recent contemporary kitchen and bath project by Boffi Georgetown. For this Northern Virginia condo, the client wanted a minimalist design reflective of a gallery atmosphere in order to emphasize his artwork. He admired the clean and simple lines of the Boffi collection and wanted to update his dark and dated flooring and cabinets. Boffi Georgetown Managing Director Julia Walter, redesigned the kitchen, master bathroom, master closet and guest bathroom in collaboration with Sarita Simpson of Interior Matter.
The kitchen features Boffi’s K14 island with Quarzite Silver countertop and Silcover white mat lacquer finish cabinets, along with Xila back wall cabinets also in Silcover white with Corian countertop and backsplash. These finishes allow the space to blend with the simple and industrial lines of the building and its windows. The island itself has a beveled edge detail which functions as a monolithic sculpture-like piece in the room.
For the master bathroom, the client wanted to replace the existing heavy and outdated vanities with one floating vanity for a modern look, but also required sufficient storage space. Walter selected Boffi’s Flyer vanity with Kupa washbasin to match the detail in the kitchen’s countertop, along with a minimalistic Flyer storage cabinet in a dark graphite grey oak to contrast the white tiles and walls. The adjoining master closet features Boffi’s Antibes walk-in wardrobe in thermotreated larch wood.
The renovated guest bath also features Boffi’s B14 floating vanity with integrated Universal washbasin. Along with the client, Walter selected white Cristalplant countertop and suspended P. Simple tall storage in Ash Grey. This complemented the overall clean and simple look while allowing for additional space for artwork. Walter then completed the space with fixtures including Boffi’s W6 mirror with wall-mounted Gio lighting as well as Blade accessories.
