Better Than A Finished Basement

From Annette Jaffe Interiors

This 4,500 square foot basement was transformed into an entertainment den with a full gym, golf simulator, arcade room, home theater, bar, full bath, storage, and an entry mud area. It might be an area for fun and games, but our Long Island studio gave the space an elegant look with sleek furniture and unique lighting.

We kept the layout open but defined each area with lights like, for example, the LED lights on the stone at the threshold of the arcade. The ceiling for the golf simulator is deep blue to simulate the night sky, and it complements the room/doors that are integrated into the paneling — on shiplap and blue.

Functionality was vital in this area, so we added practical touches like pop-up chargers and a USB in the theater and the bar, and one can raise the center arm of the theater seats for cuddling.
