At the end of a round-the-world family trip Oahu family Griff, Jen, Bao and Kama Jones stopped in their beloved Bali. Chatting around lunch they asked Alejandra of Studio Magnolia Design for fun, how much it would cost to design and build their dream home in Bali. A week later, land was leased and the design for a 3 bedroom 2 bath 2600 sq ft home (including a room for grandma) began. Studio Magnolia sourced an extraordinary 100 year old teak traditional dwelling from Java called a limasan. I it was taken apart and brought it to Bali by boat timber by timber. Once in Bali Studio Magnolia completely redesigned and repurposed the limasan for modern tropical living. Poetic and Practical.
