Located in the Pacific Northwest, the Ballard Haus is an exciting Passive House design meant to fit onto a more compact urban lot while still providing an open and airy feeling. Like all of the Pocket models from the Artisans Group, the Ballard Haus achieves the client’s standard of beauty and the passive house standard of comfort and efficiency without breaking the bank. They built up to take full advantage of the extra sunlight for solar gain during the winter, and they crafted an open concept floor plan to maximize the client’s space and budget.
The project incorporated Zola’s Thermo Clad line of windows and doors, the industry’s go-to choice for high-performance buildings. Thermo Clad offers panels up to 11’ high in the sliding doors engineered as Lift Slide units that offer an easy gliding mechanism. Standard units can be built up to 40’ in width, and custom versions can be curved or open over a corner.
Zola Glass Entry Doors offer a modern welcome to a home. Available in a variety of low aluminum or fiberglass thresholds to match any design need. Full selection of available privacy glass, with standard and fully custom door handles available. Zola Glass Entry Doors feature 5″ wide rails and styles, and glass to match a window package.
The precision doors seal out weather and noise, with fully 3D adjustable hinges for a perfect fit. They open and shut effortlessly, and are highly secure with deadbolt and several steel hooks that anchor the door into the frame.
