Architectural bureau TYURIN+PARTNERS designed the interior for apartments with panoramic views of the Volga River in Samara — "VOLGA ZEN APARTMENT", an apartment with a panoramic view of the Volga River.
They start the project from the context. The panoramic view of the Volga River and the Samara National Park determined everything in this project.
The main task was to open up the view and bring natural materials inside the space. Architects created a space in the style of soft minimalism, a relaxed interior filled with air and the warmth of sunsets.
The walls are plastered with limestone-based plaster with mica inclusions as a reference to the Zhiguli Mountains, which are made up of limestone rocks. The kitchen, island and TV area are made of oak veneer in a light shade reminiscent of the oak groves surrounding our region. Large-format porcelain tiles and glass reflect the clouds as well as the water surface outside the window.
The patterns of Indian Jaipur Rugs made of natural wool and silk are also not accidental in this interior. The carpet in the living room fully conveys the landscape with the sunset outside the window. And the carpet in the bedroom recalls fluffy clouds and the texture of tree bark.
The main point of attraction for the family is the kitchen-living room, where the soft zone is located in two directions. One of them unites the whole family together, and the second one is directed to the panorama where you can have a cup of coffee in the morning, sinking on a soft sofa and enjoying the views.
Japanese plants in moss balls — kokedamas, bonsai, authentic ceramics from local craftsmen and handmade carpets have found their place here. All lines in the interior repeat each other, curves and roundings are seen in the architecture, furniture, decor, textiles and ceramics. It was important not to overload the space, to leave air in it.
The interior turned out with absolute logic, filled with clear lines, composition and diluted with zen accents.
