Self-Contained Modular House: Alpine Series

Imagine a home that perfectly blends style, functionality, and sustainability—welcome to the Alpine Series by Esara Living. Founded in 2014, Esara Living is a talented team of architects and home builders specializing in modular architecture. They provide a seamless, all-in-one service that covers everything from designing and constructing to installing modular units for residences and small to medium-sized businesses.

Esara's design philosophy revolves around creating innovative residential architecture that fits within the smallest footprint in high-density urban areas while maximizing usable space. The Alpine prototype unit embodies this ethos beautifully. At 41.5 square meters, this work-and-live unit showcases a harmonious blend of architecture and interior design, crafted through the close collaboration of architects, interior designers, and lighting experts.

The Alpine unit is all about flexibility and adaptability, perfectly suited to our modern, post-pandemic lifestyle where working from home or anywhere is the new norm. Esara has reimagined the concept of living spaces, seamlessly integrating areas for living, dining, working, and sleeping into a cohesive and multifunctional unit.

With over a decade of hands-on experience in steel structures and lightweight composite materials, the design team has meticulously planned every detail of the Alpine unit. The modular design not only ensures easy assembly and delivery but also reduces the carbon footprint through its innovative stacking method.

While traditional modular homes are often limited to single-story structures with low ceilings, Esara breaks the mold by stacking modules to create a stunning double-height living space. The upper level houses a cozy sleeping area, while a well-sized bathroom with a shower and a fully functional kitchen counter is tucked beneath, freeing up the main living area. A custom-made seating set on a raised platform doubles as a stair landing, making it an inviting spot for gatherings.

The single-flight staircase, flanked along the living area, features handrails with integrated lighting for ease of use and maintenance. The sleeping space offers closet space and overlooks the living area, creating a sense of openness. A small joinery piece at the end of the bed serves as both a low table and a balustrade. Sliding glass doors can be left open or closed to separate the living area from the private sleeping quarters.

Esara Living's commitment to sustainable, innovative, and inspiring modular architecture is reshaping how we think about living and working spaces. The Alpine Series is a testament to their vision, offering a glimpse into a future where thoughtful design and functionality coexist in perfect harmony.
