From massimo de conti
London based architect Massimo De Conti designed a house for a young professional couple in their 30s. The architect conceived an interior which is modern yet with a subtle old school elegance.
The aim was to reuse and repurpose as much as possible the items already there. The kitchen has been “updated” with newly painted cabinets and a coat of concrete resin by Kerakoll for the floor and backsplash. The gilded framed mirrors, once spread throughout the house on top of the 6 fireplaces, have been grouped in the entrance area with the effect of a modern drawing room.
Contrasts are brought with colours (all from Farrow&Ball collection), passing from the anthracite of the entrance hall to the total white of the living room. Accents of colour in the rooms include the blue fireplace in the master bedroom, the dark combination of mirror and fireplace, almost a sculpture in the walk in wardrobe, to the main bathroom cladded in dark grey Sicis mosaic with blue wall.
Furniture has been carefully chosen in order to add drama to the rooms, a sort of scenographic environment enhanced by the large limited edition prints by Italian designer Simone Bonanni.
