Interior design project to bring character to a new standardized dwelling and empty of experiences in the north of Madrid

HISTORY: The property is located in the neighborhood of Montecarmelo, in the north of Madrid. The house presented a typology and standard finishes in new construction of promotions and urbanizations of growing neighborhoods. The handicap of this type of housing is that all homes are exactly the same and are delivered completely empty and with minimal equipment. The interior design project proposed resolves the lack of character and idiosyncrasy with a series of interventions in all rooms, in addition to providing storage and furniture throughout the house. The final result is a cozy, stylish, comfortable and contemporary apartment that brings a great quality of life to the owners.

SUMMARY DATA:
Project: Housing interior design project

Location: Madrid

Client: Private

Budget: 40,000€

Start date: 2018

End date: 2019

CHALLENGE: Provide a standardized empty house of new construction in the periphery of Madrid with its own personality and character for a young family with children in a growing neighborhood. The interventions of each room will solve particular problems and create a whole a global idea of home.

SOLUTION: In order to provide the idea of home and its own personality, it is decided to carry out a series of acupuncture interventions in the architecture of the apartment: on the terrace it is proposed an intervention that provides warmth and the possibility of its use all the year; in the children's room it is placed a custom furniture that will act as a play area and beds simultaneously; in the main room it is generated a separation of spaces through a sieve of slats in the dressing area and the headboard custom made with LED lighting and hanging lamps at the height of the bedside tables creates a space for relaxation and comfort. On the other hand, the corridor is updated with plaster moldings and hidden LED lighting, in order to keep away the sensations of halogen bulbs so repeated in common dwellings. The living room will act as the protagonist space of the house with a large piece of furniture that lodge telecommunications, electronic devices and the TV, and provides storage, continuing with plaster moldings and hidden LED lighting. The rest of the lounge furniture combines its colors and tones, generating an elegant and sophisticated space. The kitchen is composed by a table separated of the wall that will gain as much space as possible and the lighting of this space is completed with matching hanging lamps.
