Wooden Furniture Handcrafted in Minnesota

Matt Eastvold founded Eastvold Furniture 11 years ago, but the Minnesota native says he'd been doing woodworking as a hobby long before that. The furniture maker designs and creates heirloom-quality furniture, including credenzas, beds, and tables, that are engineered to endure. New at the Dwell Store, Eastvold's furniture collection blends traditional woodworking techniques and modern elegance.

Eastvold carries several different lines of products, grouped together by a common name. “So far the different lines of furniture have come organically through custom pieces or prototyping at the shop. The Elko series of credenzas features an unexpected material and color. “I am really excited about the possibilities that computer navigated laser cutters have opened up for furniture design," Eastvold says. "The Elko base is cut from a piece of sheet steel by a laser, and is an efficient and affordable way to freshen up the classic shapes. We are also using powder coating to get the colors, and it gives a durable and bright finish to the steel, which seemed like a sleek and modern change to make to these pieces.” The credenza bases are available in both saturated and neutral colors, and in small and large sizes.
