Return to romanticism, whimsy and nature

“We wanted to bring in the green from the living room into the daughter's bedroom and complement it with a blush pink as those were her favorite colors,” says Wagh. The pink is Asian Paints Rose Petal and the green is Asian Paints Mountain Stream.

Many of the apartment’s motifs come together here, including the circular detail in the closet door, which is also found in a main room and repeated in the hardware, and the fluted glass. Custom arched mirrors hang on the wall.

The featured vintage shell mirror is from Sarasota Trading Company.

The house was designed to minimally interfere with the hilltop vegetation, which is what attracted the family to the site.

A stainless steel, wall-mounted sink appears to float, as does the steel shelf below, and the pipes are hidden in the wall.

In the new living room, the floors are covered in pine wood with a Bona Craft Oil finish in Frost, and the walls and ceiling are coated in lime plaster, Mortex by Beal. The handmade hanging chair, made of plaster, is a favorite spot for the couple’s cat, Paka.

A Danish artist filled the wooden wonder with handcrafted details and hygge vibes—and it comes with a studio and a tree house.

Tall windows wrapping around the living spaces ensure plenty of sunshine is invited inside.

The well-preserved wood-and-stone-clad home rests at the end of a long, gravel drive, surrounded by a mature forest. Its bright red door extends a cheerful welcome.

Picking the right tile for a trailer floor can be a challenge—tiles need to be a particular size to withstand road vibrations without cracking. So Native Tile made a custom size and custom design for this project. “I spent four hours putting together this puzzle,” says Bolden.

The new concrete wall along the western perimeter contains a walled garden with a secondary entrance. Cream-colored LOHAS Nilo Rustic bricks clad the new extension to remain "sympathetic yet differentiated" from the existing red-brick Edwardian.

After: The family displayed a vibrant collection of carnival glass found at a flea market on the wall to the left of the dining table. “There’s more,” Geoffrey explains, noting their luck. “That’s not all of it.” The grand dining table is actually Powell’s family table from childhood, Geoffrey says, with his childhood kitchen table placed in the middle. Vintage steelcase chairs surround, found on eBay. The chandelier is Gino Sarfatti for FLOS. “We believe it's vintage to the 1990’s,” Geoffrey says. All exterior walls are painted Benjamin Moore’s Bohemian Lace.

After: A new porch roof, made of metal, completes the updated exterior facade. The home’s doors and the garage door are painted a punchy pink, Benjamin Moore’s Rosewood.

Plaster and wood give the loft texture at every turn.
