The tiles for the pool echo the ones used in the bathroom and kitchen.

In the upstairs bathroom, the team expanded the footprint by taking some space from an adjacent bedroom. The tile is from Cle, the tub is Claybrook, the faucets are Brizo, and the walnut casework contains custom-designed pulls by Murray Legge Architecture.

The energy efficient design relies on a wood-burning stove for chilly days, otherwise sunlight, and operable windows and doors take care of most of the heating and cooling.

Roxana works in the garden, which will be altered but remain an important part of the home.

Practicality and ease of install can directly impact on-site workflow—creating timing and cost implications. The Marvin Skycove—a one-of-a-kind suspended window that Leavitt discovered while visiting Marvin’s showroom at 7 Tide in Boston—provides an install-ready window bench option. “That's always been a challenge for us,” Leavitt says of the pop-out window. “It’s always been hard to build, whereas we could buy that whole unit from Marvin.”

A small home office, also overlooking the pool and patio, was built just beyond the kitchen, with the same Villa Lagoon concrete tile flooring. The custom desk is paired with a vintage Kartell red Chair and a Ferm Living Ark dining chair.
