Outdoor

Relatively self explanatory. Current eye sores are the old deck/color/railing, the big deck stilts, and all along the basement with uncovered concrete at the bottom, unclear entrance porch thing, etc. Piers would prefer lighter wood color for decking than current state. Natural landscaping (wildflower / pollinator / bird meadow, use of rock walls/boulders, woodland restoration). May be interested in plunge pool or outdoor shower/tub, especially if limitations with converting bathroom into inside/outside situation.

“The layout and openings allow ample flow to the exterior, and paths and decks have been developed to ‘flatten’ the sloping site enough to create generous outdoor gathering areas,” Herrin says. “These areas take into account sunlight at different times of day as well as protection from prevailing wind,” he adds. One-by-six-foot ipe planks comprise the decking, and hemlock end grain by the Oregon Lumber Company was installed indoors.
