Each room has natural bathroom amenities from Village Common.

Here, the washbasin is by Ceramica Globo, the Life taps are by Bellosta, and the wall lamp is by Lampe Gras (DCW Editions). The mirror has been customized for this home.

The bathrooms tend to feature a slightly more muted color palette, with classic square mosaic tiles in variegated colors for added texture and life on the walls and floor.

In the bathroom, Martin selected Heath Ceramics Conclave Diamond tile in citrus green for the glass-enclosed Kohler tub, which is outfitted with nickel Kallista fixtures. In the new bathroom, the couple chose black floor tile from Wayfair, selecting a shape similar to the kitchen tile for consistency. The marble shower tile was a Home Depot find, as was the Toto toilet.

After shot of the bathroom, kept the original retro sink & toilet and added them to the expanded bathroom.

When Chris and Claude bought the home, the maroon toilet was mismatched with a white toilet lid. Although they couldn't find an exact match (even after five tries), the new lid is a much better match than the white.

This half bath offers original fixtures and finishes—including stained glass windows and a mint-green sink and toilet.

1952 Bathroom

The boys’ bathroom takes on a “cartoonish” appearance with blue molded fiberglass, a design choice that the clients asked for after seeing Austin Maynard Architects’ work on a bright yellow molded fiberglass bath in a previous project.

A bathroom tucked beneath the stairway has a cavernous quality. Everything—down to the toilet and Hansgrohe AXOR faucets—has the same charcoal shade.
