Located in the center of the home and doubling as a circulation corridor from the entrance to the main living areas, the multi-purpose room can be used for yoga and is clad in maple plywood walls that run throughout the cabin.

The primary suite opens to the closet, which was inspired by retail stores.

The fireplace is a striking, and popular, feature that the family uses frequently. It was an investment upfront, but will prove a cost-effective choice as time goes on. "Our unit can warm our entire family space including the kitchen, living room, dining room, and office with a more than 90-percent efficiency rating," the homeowner explains.

The archways progress throughout the interior, leading residents from one room to the next. A second courtyard is situated between the kitchen/dining area and a staircase that leads to the loft. Teak flooring in the kitchen/dining area contrasts with the lime plaster walls, adding warmth to the space.

The dining room is set in the center of the triple-height space at the heart of the home. A replica of the Oval dining table by Saarinen is paired with Wishbone chairs by Carl Hansen and Sons. Davide Groppi’s Moon pendant lamp hangs above.

The courtyard functions as an outdoor room framed by a pair of timber screens.

With the home’s glass walls pulled open, the patio and fire pit become an extension of the dining room.

Wide porch screens and warm wood tones give the outdoor space a casual livability.

To make the bedroom feel warm and cozy, the architects added American oak floors that match the American oak battens applied to the cabinetry. The carpet is 100 percent wool.
