A folding window wall opens onto the East-facing deck, creating an ideal indoor/outdoor common area. The living room features a Ligne Roset Feng sofa and custom Tai Ping carpet.

The living room features a sofa by Sits and a 1950 Hunting Chair by Børge Mogensen.

On the triplex’s second floor, the homeowners’ living room is framed by a sizeable bay window. The room centers on an EQ3 couch and Blu Dot’s Free Range coffee table. A fireplace, finished with plaster, serves as a source of added warmth during the winter and a focal point all year round. The interiors were designed by Mason Studio.

Located on the ground floor, the family room has a large barn door that can be closed to create a guest suite for visitors.

The home's sloping roofline guides the eye towards the outdoor living area. In the living room, occupants can relax in the Eames lounge.

Custom built cedar window frames make up several ‘window walls’ in the house, offering views of the North Carolina woods and plenty of natural light.

The furniture and artwork in the house are items that the residents have collected from both Portugal and elsewhere in Europe. The interiors were designed by José Luís Barbosa.

The living room-office, part of the new rooftop addition, has a Forever 715 sofa by Vibieffe and a rug the couple purchased in Morocco. The custom swing double doors feature a thermally broken aluminum frame and insulated glass.

To create privacy, the residents opted to keep the family room separate from the other living spaces. The sofa, chair, and rug are from Room & Board.

The living room features a roomy Scandinavia sofa from Bolia and vintage glass pendants from Holmegaard. The original gold stucco wall frames are accented with Farrow & Ball paint in Mole’s Breath.
