A sunken library houses Paul’s extensive Jane Austen collection. Built-in walnut seating, also by Lutz Wood, is covered in Cortina Leathers cushions. A 1960s Hungarian tapestry hangs nearby.

Sticking out above the kitchen, the triangular library showcases a sculpture by Stephen De Staebler.

The guest room is part of the addition off the kitchen, and can act as an ADU when necessary.

A soaring tower of shelves crafted from Shinnoki pre-finished wood panels in the "Ivory Oak" color now form the family library.

The library, upstairs in the center volume of the house and lined with built-in bookshelves, offers a different cozy scale than the rest of the house.

The step-down den off the great room is a cozy space, with plaid and houndstooth fabrics from Pindler. "Men’s suiting is very serious on its own, but putting it all together makes it playful," says Clasen.

A new built-in bench is now tucked into the corner.

A Murphy bed transforms office into a guest room.

A cozy library awaits on the upper level, complete with floor-to-ceiling custom shelving.

The office/library acts as a transition area that “slows the separation” between the main living spaces and the primary bedroom, says Sean.

The pink and blue color scheme was influenced by the couple’s Kandinsky print. “I have carried around dozens of books to the many places I've lived for a long time,” says Rachel, who now has a home for the collection here.
