The home's floor-to-celing windows and sliding doors are by Pella. When weather allows, the Odess family pushes them open, allowing for entertaining flow and genuine indoor-outdoor living.

As the project progressed, many original Victorian architectural features began to be uncovered, such as the stone gate posts on the side elevation. Rather than covering them up again, Becky and Rob chose to sandblast the walls and leave them exposed – adding character to the home’s interior. They then painted the walls in Red 03 paint from Lick.

“The things we splurged on still look raw, which is what we wanted,” adds Nick.

The renovated home office includes DIY storage and a hand-painted, eight-color mural in the likeness of a 1600s etching that Goldman did herself—an endeavor that took over 100 hours.

Carved out of the massing above the staircase, the "crow's nest" office includes a custom masonite desk and a Ligne Roset chair.

“I particularly love the blue paint on the custom millwork in the small office on the second floor,” Barker says. She used paint to make an impact throughout the home without breaking the bank.

“The first floor has a separate home office were we flipped the exterior color palette by painting the walls black and the windows white,” says Hawthorn Builders.

The office, located adjacent the master bedroom, is smartly outfitted with a vintage Aluminum Group Management chair by Herman Miller, a custom walnut plywood desk by Kerf Design, and Hitch bookcases from Blu Dot.

The sun-soaked art studio is elevated into the tree canopy.
