Just inside the entry is a door to the ultimate mudroom for handling post surf sessions, with heated concrete floors and a built-in drain, to hose off sandy feet and boards, and store them. The rug is from Serena & Lily.

Because of the project’s rural nature, there was no cell service on-site. Communication with the local tradespeople had to be crystal clear from the outset, so there were just a handful of details used on the whole project, inside and out. “It was about keeping the vocabulary simple, so we were all on the same page,” says Cuppett.

“Describing a feeling or way of living in our home was always important, as the color and texture palette was always chosen based on our natural surroundings,” says Teegan.
