Creamy interior of a grooming salon Groomer

"Time spent with pets is never wasted" - this famous phrase about human-pet relationship by Sigmund Freud drove a Ukrainian based studio Yakusha Design to develop a project of a full service grooming salon for cats and dogs. High ceiling 200 square-metre space includes 3 zones: a grooming itself with such beauty-care services as bathing, trimming & styling, a big lounge area that provides a pampering, stress-free experience for pet owners and area for personal hygiene.

For the interior of a hairdresser for pets in one of the elite areas of city designers chose a warm creamy color palette and high-quality natural materials. Light beige wood for furniture, quartzite rock for the floor and steel for walls were mixed with ceramic décor and soft shapes of modular sofas.

Designers also used the contrast in dimensions by emphasizing the height of walls in the space and earthiness of sofas. Conventionally, the interior has been developed in the horizontal plane, giving space even more volume. Another design trick is the abundance of circle shapes in the interior. Round sconces and mirror, rounded sofas and tables - all this adds softness to the space.

Main idea of interior – to keep it laconic and comfy. While the pets are brought to their natural beauty, their owners are comfortably sitting on the soft islands, relaxing with a cup of coffee or tea from the lounge bar. Visitors are also offered a wide assortment of caring products for domestic animals in a store – from organic shampoos to fragrances.

"The main challenge of this project was to create not just “another grooming salon” in our city, but a space for socialising for the pet owners, while they are waiting for their furry friends" – said chief designer and founder of studio Yakusha Design, Victoria Yakusha. – We have a Belgian shepherd for 5 years now and he loves his little beauty routine. Therefore, the project was very moving and fun".
