Chewse

For Chewse's new 4,000 square foot San Francisco office we set out to create a space that would support this company's collaborative work environment and reflect their welcoming, playful vibe. We worked with the space's existing open plan and used strategic furniture and horticulture to designate areas for different functionalities in lieu of traditional partitions. The building's high ceilings and abundant natural light created an ideal setting for tall plants, which we used throughout the space to bring a bit of the outdoors in. For the lounge and reception areas, we chose soft seating in cool muted palettes, adding in graphic textiles and bright decor items.

Because team meals are an important element of Chewse’s office culture, they needed a fully functioning kitchen and ample dining space to accommodate everyone at once. We created an efficient desk arrangement for Chewse’s work area to maximize space and encourage productivity, including a storage unit for each pod to reduce clutter. For the meeting rooms, we worked to complement the minimal beauty of the existing cement walls and skylights by keeping the design simple using a mix of light wood, white seating, and ample plant life. The end result is a relaxed yet sophisticated environment that is welcoming to employees and clients alike.
