The common area in this penthouse by Studio RHE boasts a digital cube ceiling, stunning views, and an immense book collection by the bar.

The living room is five steps down from the kitchen and office space and features textured black slate tile from Olympia Tile, Voyage Immobile sofas with Farniente collection upholstery (a wedding present from Flanders’s mother) by Roche Bobois, and a rug from Turkmenistan the couple picked up in Jerusalem. The sliding glass doors are by Loewen and the glazing above is by Inline Fiberglass. Sawatzky relied on Wayne Arsenault for the custom millwork and carpentry.

The double-height living room provided the perfect opportunity to combine the homeowners' love of art, literature, and travel, allowing them to fill the 24-foot shelves with books and collected artifacts. A wood-burning sustainable fireplace by Wittus adds a broad stroke of warmth.

"The shelves with green-painted interiors—a nod to the cases found in old bookshelves—house the artist’s collection of comics, vinyl records, and objects," says Semerene.

A blue book case adds a bit of color to the bright interior. Buyers of the Tilley row houses were able to customize the interior finishes including native Texas pecan flooring.

BFDO Architects’ House for Booklovers and Cats has a bookcase with a built-in catwalk.

On the basement level, the Megacabinet shelving is mainly used for books and toys. The floors throughout the home are engineered white oak.
