The lower submerged level is comprised of the kids’ and guest bedrooms as well as the multi-purpose room—is a popular hangout for the kids and family dog, Roxy. The Chair and Bar Bench, both by Hans Wegner for PP Møbler, a Muuto 3-seater sofa by Andersen & Voll, and David Weeks' Tripod No. 303 floor lamp mix midcentury modern with contemporary design.
The library serves as both an office and a small, informal meeting space. Offect’s hyperpigmented Spoon chairs create parallels with traditional Sri Lankan clothing and the country’s rich natural landscape. The soft, vibrant fabric also accentuates the simple lines of an Artur desk from Scandinavian design collective SA Møbler and a Monterey coffee table by Montana.

Hollander was rarely surprised by people’s homes, and they rarely changed her image of who these friends are or would be. “There are all of these alarmist headlines about how people online aren't who they are in real life, that they ‘curate’ personas,” she says. “But we all curate in real life as well.”
