Celebrate July 4th with 10 American-Made Designs

Colorado’s Topo Designs creates backpacks and packs, clothing, and apparel that capture a decidedly outdoor spirit, while still maintaining a streamlined aesthetic that communicates with urban adventurers too. This classic Duffle Bag is designed with travel and commuting in mind.

Utilizing her marbling technique, Leah Ball’s Day-Night Porcelain Mug is comprised of two colors of porcelain that have been blended to create a one-of-a-kind look. Each mug is handmade in her Chicago studio.

Brooklyn-based illustrator and designer Mark McGinnis creates graphic prints that expertly blend line and color. His Menagerie Collection—including his Blue Elephant Framed Print—presents a series of prints that depict animals and flora in a range of soft, yet vibrant colors.

Los Angeles–based Bend designs and produces furniture, lighting, and accessories for the modern home and contemporary public spaces. Its work is characterized by a brilliant use of lines and color, as exemplified in the Lucy Dining Side Chair. The chair is made of hot-dip galvanized iron with a powder coat finish.

From Chandra, this handcrafted Shuffleboard Table is comprised of ash wood that is assembled and hand-stained in Atlanta. The table features a leather gutter and a thick 1.5-inch solid hardwood butcher block playing surface that is finger-jointed and finished in a smooth, glossy polyurethane.

Brooklyn-based design duo Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Highsmith render cast iron, steel and brass into the handsome Workstead Floor Lamp. Defined by a crane-like profile, it at once reaches out and sits steadily waiting. The adjustable arm can be positioned as a reading lamp or a spotlight.

San Francisco designer Tina Frey creates modern resin products for the home, using a thoroughly executed design, hand sculpting, and hand casting process. With her Round Tree Swing, Tina Frey takes her designs outside, and captures the joy of swinging from a tree branch.

A new 2015 addition to Yield Design Co.’s fleet of products, the Field Bag is a versatile tote that can be used for a variety of occasions. It can be used for taking lunch to work, packing a picnic, shopping, or even as a shopping tote. Each element in the Field Bag is made of materials made in the United States, and is assembled in Yield Design Co.’s St. Augustine, Florida studio.

Recalling the look of the classic Bauer Pottery design from the 1930s, the Beehive Coffee Mug from the Bauer Pottery Company of Los Angeles features a pronounced handle and a tall profile that is reminiscent—as the name aptly indicates—of a beehive.
