Peter Behrens created the first-ever unified corporate identity and system of interchangeable parts, which have since become standard operating procedure. As an architect, he designed one of the early examples, the New Ways home in Northampton, England, that paved the way for the predominance of the International Style. As a founding member of Deutscher Werkbund, he mentored Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, and Le Corbusier, who all worked in his office.
