A Rock Star’s L.A. Compound With a Geodesic Dome Just Listed For $1.7M

Guitarist Nicky Panicci’s hillside home in Eagle Rock is truly one-of-a-kind—and it comes with its very own geodesic dome.

Published by

When guitarist Nicky Panicci first spotted this geodesic dome, he was sitting on the deck of his former home, an Eagle Rock A-frame. A year later, he purchased the dome and the adjacent main house which make up a two-building hillside compound. Panicci, who has a history of renovating homes, spent the next few years updating the property with his signature "bohemian meets midcentury" touch.

The compound consists of a main house and a geodesic dome built in the 1980s.

Set on a half-acre lot, the main home was originally built in 1922 as a single-story dwelling, and it's been expanded over the years with subsequent renovations. The geodesic dome which originally caught Panicci's eye was built at the top of the lot in the early 1980s.

The iconoclastic musician chose to live in the dome and use the main home as a guesthouse. The main house features three bedrooms, two baths, two separate living areas, plus a bonus room with its own private entrance. The property also includes two fountains, three decks, a lava rock waterfall, and a lofty circular meditation deck. The entire property is currently on the market for $1,699,000.

The main house is bright and airy and features an open floor plan.
